The Visual Art component of the programme seeks to highlight and elevate Visual Artists who are active in the industry, are currently practicing and have a substantial body of work. Tatenda Magaisa is an artist and researcher. Her research includes themes pertaining to global cultural interaction, black women in popular culture as artists and/or practitioners in Africa and the foregone conclusion of surplus labour under a culturally dominated society. Her visual practice currently focuses on ideas of escapism, fatigue and mental health while navigating an increasingly uncertain and hostile world.
